Happy 698th Birthday to the Ming Founder

I’m back!

It’s been a year, but the founder’s birthday seems as good a time as any to declare that I have resumed work on my second novel on the Ming founding:

Red Turban
In China’s Huai River Valley, a Buddhist monk abandons his vows and joins the new local warlord as rebellion threatens the Mongol Yuan Dynasty. Rising quickly through the ranks, the former monk marries a fellow orphan who becomes his soulmate in a marriage shaped by ambition and deep loss. Together the two must make their way through a brutal landscape, discern friend from foe, and turn the Red Turban uprising into a potent force for uniting the empire.

I’ll keep you posted as I continue to work on this one.

Meanwhile, happy 698th!
